Eight intrepid explorers set off to the hills of Sierra Espuña on 25th February, taking in a picturesque drive along the pink and white almond blossom groves. The first part of the walk was a constant though gentle ascent, helped along by conversation between us and seeing some stunning scenery. The second part was downhill, finishing off in a lively country restaurant with a menu del dia, amongst a crowd of Spanish revellers. A most enjoyable day and looking forward to the next walk – Val Gilbert
